Creative Minds at Work
Applied Learning or Fine Arts strives to provide students with opportunities in engaging activities that will generate interest, spark passion, increase application of skills and knowledge, and facilitate communities that cultivate productive, civically-minded members of society. Applied Learning for elementary students focuses on six areas: Civic Engagement, Music & Performing Arts, Physical Education, STEM & Computer Science, and Visual Arts.
Dillard Elementary Media
As the Media Specialist, my Library Skills instruction focuses on Research skills utilizing the resources and databases provided by the county as well as school-based. The library program aims at improving literacy skills, academic achievements, and creating lifelong learners. Beanstack and Sora are two resources that are helping our scholars to accomplish these goals.
I also collaborate with classroom teachers to synchronize learning, so that scholars can see the relevance and interconnections between disciplines.
This year, our annual Book Fair was held in November.

The Physical Education program at Dillard Elementary brings learning to life through movement! Students build strong bodies and confident minds while developing teamwork skills, practicing fair play, and strengthening positive social habits—all while having fun.
Dillard Elementary Music
At Dillard Elementary, music isn’t just an activity—it’s a vibrant part of our school culture. Our music program offers students exciting opportunities to explore their talents through drumline, chorus, and violin.
One of the highlights of our program is the violin initiative, which is provided free of charge thanks to the generous support of the Volta Music Foundation. This partnership ensures that every student who dreams of playing the violin can do so without financial barriers.
Through these programs, we aim to inspire creativity, build confidence, and foster a lifelong love of music in our students. Whether it’s the rhythmic energy of the drumline, the harmonies of the chorus, or the elegance of the violin, there’s something for everyone at Dillard Elementary.

Science specials at Dillard Elementary School is a place to discovery, explore, and deepen our knowledge of the natural world. We ignite curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving through engaging, hands-on activities. Our goal is to create life-long learners who will take their science knowledge and apply it to their continuing education as well as foster love and appreciation for the wonderful world we all share.
